our newsletter.
This month - apart from sharing
tips & tricks and feature reviews regarding Timeslips - I am
excited to say that Timeslips was recently rated the most

This is a must-read for the "billing" person in your
firm. |
|
|
|
|
|
In Timeslips 2008 the Billing Assistant was completely
redesigned and the option given to view
one client at a time
or a
list view of clients ready for
billing. In
Timeslips 2009 Billing Assistant was further
enhanced to allow you to gain even greater insight into the
billing process.
Billing Assistant now provides up to the minute information
about the different types of charges included on each
client's bill with the new "Billing Details Totals" screen
for both Fees and Disbursements. Additionally, the Billing
Assistant includes even more detail about the interest and
hold charges associated with the client.
Think of Billing Assistant as your "editable worksheet" -
you have the ability to edit slips, change client
information, update billing arrangements and see the
results, all from the one screen. You can also generate pre
bills and bills, print a WIP analysis and review Client
History - all from the Billing Assistant.

Report Spotlight - Missing Time by Period |

You can quickly learn who has not met minimum
requirements for the week.
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
If you need to know when staff are not billing enough time,
you can set the minimum hours for each timekeeper within the
general page of the "TimeKeeper" information dialog box.
Use
this report to identify time that may not have been entered
for the billing. You can format this report using the
settings within the Report Options dialog box. For example,
you can display weekend days, exclude "timekeepers" who met
their minimum hours or display weekly or monthly totals.

Quick Tip - "No
Charge" Time |
| |
|
|
| |
|
When you choose not to bill a client for work done, change
the billing status on the slip to "No Charge".
By selecting "No Charge" the slip appears on the invoice
with No Charge in the charges column. In doing this you are
telling your client that the service you provided has value
but you have chosen not to charge them for it.

"The Futures Group
is a progressive and innovative HR consultancy firm that manages a
range of projects and consultancy services to government and private
sector clients. As a growing business the need to implement an
integrated contact management, project management and time
management solution became a priority at the beginning of 2008.
Through the implementation of
TimeMatters by LexisNexis we have been able to create an
environment where consultants are accountable for their project and
client management and we have the ability to record meaningful and
easily accessible information relating to clients and projects. All
time is recorded accurately against projects to give a clear
indication of profitability and detailed invoicing. Information is
more easily shared and overall provides a more collaborative working

Following the successful implementation of
TimeMatters by LexisNexis in July 2008 we moved to integrating
our billing system with

by Sage. We now have a fully computerised accounts system which
requires minimal data entry and we have the ability to run complex
financial management reports with the click of a button.
