Hello ,
Welcome to the July 2009 issue of our
E-newsletter.
Timeslips 2010 was released
just over a month ago by SAGE US and is now available here.
This release of Timeslips focuses on enhancements to
reporting as well as some significant improvements under the
hood. |
|
|
With the new billing engine, client's who print large
numbers of bills will see a huge improvement in the amount
of time it takes to print.
There are several exciting new features, one of those being
the new Custom Field Types which include Percent, Hours and
Number values - these new field formats will provide a lot
more flexibility in reporting on client budgets. Stay tuned
for some examples in next month's E-newsletter.

NEW Preview Bills or Reports
without Saving - Users can now print reports without
having to first save them to the report list. |

Clients Not Billed
Report - This report shows all clients that were not
billed during previous billing cycles. By
identifying which clients have not been billed, this
report can help prevent lost revenue. |

ENHANCED Customizable
Section on Bills - Timeslips 2010 offers additional
viewable fields for customisable sections on bills,
so you can include the last bill date, last payment
amount, and last payment ID to this section on a
customer's bill |

EXPANDED new
Custom Field
Types and Customizable Options - Create new
numeric fields that can be assigned custom values
and can be associated with specific names. This data
can be used to select, sort and |
|
 |
|
subtotal records on
reports, allowing for more powerful custom
report calculations. In addition, new custom
field types can store money, percent, hours,
and number values. |

IMPROVED History Bill for
the Court - When using the "History Bill for the
Court" report, all totals for fees and expenses are
now included. IN addition, a Timekeeper Summary
table can also be included on the report. |

IMPROVED Data Entry Options
- Use the Enter key to move through fields (like the
Tab key), improving speed of data entry |

Important
Notice to all Timeslips 2007 and lower users
As of Saturday 31st October 2009,
release 2007 of Timeslips will no longer be supported by the
manufacturer, SAGE. This means that as of this date supported
products will include Timeslips 2008, 2009 and 2010.
As the Australasian Distributor of Timeslips, we will always
endeavour to support our customers. However, we can no
longer obtain assistance from the manufacturer for
unsupported versions. Should you encounter any future
compatibility issues (such as new versions of Windows etc)
or unsolvable technical problems, this could result in an
interruption to your time recording and billing cycles.
If you are using an obsolete version of Timeslips, your
business
is reliant on software that is no longer supported by the
manufacturer. We encourage you to
upgrade to
Timeslips 2010 and take advantage of the many new
enhancements added since your version.

Database Maintenance - Clean up your
Database |

Do you have slips dating back to
1995 (or before) still in your database?
Maybe it's time
to purge them and speed up the performance of your billing
and reporting. It's easy to setup a "historical database"
for future access if necessary.
Do you have
clients you haven't done any work for in several years still
on the "open" list?
Consider moving
them to "closed". If they resurface for more work simply
change their status back to open. This will help make the
client list more management for time entry, billing and
reporting.
